Vocational Life-skills
The Trust provides employment opportunities through our Vocational Service and has two Vocational Supervisors who assist in the supervision and guidance of the clients in the service. They take on local contracts that are within our clients’ abilities, such as light work including but not limited to lawn mowing, clearing properties, cutting firewood, collecting donated firewood for Matea stock, spreading mulch for some clients etc. However our service is mainly involved with the delivery and stacking of firewood (for which we have a fantastic reputation). These all give a real sense of contribution to the community where skills are gained, and life lessons learnt.
Our Vocational Service includes both residents from the Homestead and others from the wider community.
We always see notable improvements in physical and mental health as a result of the challenging social and physical activities they take part in.
